Ensuring Maritime Security: Intership Service Professional Surveys

Our company continues to collaborate with insurance companies and shipowners to conduct surveys for assessing insurance risks in P&I and H&M ship insurance criteria. Recently, we have conducted surveys for various types of vessels, including tankers, gas carriers, general cargo ships, and bulk carriers.

During inspections carried out by our specialists with extensive experience as ship captains, various deficiencies were identified. After our reports were submitted to the insurance companies, these issues were promptly addressed. As a result, the ship’s crew, being informed by independent experts, has the opportunity to rectify any observations to obtain insurance and enhance overall maritime safety of the vessel.

Conducting such surveys enables shipowners to obtain P&I and H&M insurance coverage and avoid detentions by Port State Control (PSC) during inspections under the Black Sea MoU and Paris MoU. In turn, insurance companies receive official survey reports that play a decisive role in the final decision regarding insuring the vessel.

On 11th June 2023, we conducted an H&M survey for a GENERAL CARGO type vessel. The inspection revealed non-compliance with safety and fire safety procedures by the crew, as well as some malfunctions in ship machinery. A list of observations was compiled, including deadlines for rectification, and it was provided to both the shipowner and the insurance company. After the specified deadlines, we conducted a follow-up inspection to ensure the rectification of the observations.

Additionally, our company performs pre-purchase assessments of the technical condition of vessels, accompanied by the preparation of corresponding reports.
